Senior 1sts Team Coaches
DAVID O’CONNOR
1st XV Head Coach
David is a past player and club captain. A product of our youth cycle DOC has played at every level with Kilkenny RFC. Making his 1st XV debut in 2005 under Mick O'Neill he went on to play AIL with Suttonians and Old Wesley. Later he played national league in Nova Scotia, Canada. In 2012 DOC returned to play with Kilkenny and was No 8 on the Div 2A league winning side and again captained the club to the 1B title. David had a 2 year sabbatical from the club while working in Helsinki. During this time he was appointed forwards coach to the Finnish National side. Work commitments saw him return to Ireland in June 2019 and subsequently accepted the role as head coach.
