Former Internationals hosting training session

Kilkenny RFC are delighted to welcome two former internationals to their girls training this Wednesday (Oct 30th) night. Flying winger Alison Miller will put the U14 and U16 girls through their paces, while local club member Caroline Jenkinson will use her years of experience in the second row for Ireland as she helps our U18 girls team with their scrummaging and lineouts.

Alison won 47 caps for Ireland and scored over 20 tries for her country including the famous try in the World Cup win over New Zealand. She was recently voted onto the Ladies Rugby team of the decade and while she has retired from International rugby she still plays for Connacht in the inter provincials and Old Belvedere in the All Ireland league.

Caroline won her caps for Ireland playing out of the UL Bohemians club in Limerick, indeed one of her International jerseys is now proudly displayed in the clubhouse at Kilkenny RFC. Not as ‘recently’ retired as Alison, Caro turned her hand to coaching and has been an accomplished coach at Newbridge College and now currently at Kilkenny College.

This is a great opportunity for girls to be coached by former internationals but also to see the places and the opportunities that now exist for girls rugby. New girls at all ages are always welcome. Please just contact the club and we will put you in touch with the correct age group. New players more than welcome this Wednesday (30th) at 7pm. #StrongerTogether
